Taught by New York-based sustainable fashion journalist and expert Alden Wicker, this course is for small fashion businesses and designers who want to break into the U.S. market and reach the kind of conscious customer who cares about well-crafted, beautiful design — and will pay for it!
In five weeks, Alden will teach you:
- What consumers expect from a brand that markets itself as sustainable and ethical (and how to avoid accidentally greenwashing)
- The different types of conscious consumers and what they each want from fashion
- How to set up your website to build trust and drive sales
- Creative ways of selling outside of traditional seasons and wholesale
- How to leverage publications, blogs, and social media to build a community of loyal customers
By the end of this course, you’ll have an action plan that is customized for you and your brand.

Who is this course for? - This course is for small (pre-launch through ten employees) fashion businesses and designers inside and outside the U.S. Brands that consider themselves sustainable and ethical and conventional brands considering making the switch are both welcome and would both benefit from this course.
How much time does this course take? - Between one and three hours a week for five weeks.
Can I take this course at my own pace? - Yes, the pace is entirely up to you. There are five modules, so we suggest five weeks. But you can take a break or spend extra time on any module if you wish.
What do I need to start? - You just need your laptop or smartphone, a good internet connection and a notepad.
I'm seeing a lot of Spanish on this website. Does this mean the course will be in Spanish as well? - No, this course is completely in English. The menu and interface are in Spanish because it was created for students from Latin America. However, we can answer any questions you may have in [capitalize] English, and even in French and Portuguese. Our team is multilingual ;)
Will you be breaking this down into smaller modules for a partial price? - All the modules build on one another, so this is a package deal.
What is the store pictured in the above photo? - That's the sustainable brand Whimsy & Row in Los Angeles, which gave us permission to use this photo of their beautiful store.
Can you send me an invoice for this course? - Yes, please email [email protected]
You can also email [email protected] for any other question you have regarding the course or the platform.
